Jay & Linda Aarseth Updates

Dear Dr. Burge

Please extend our gratitude to all who have prayed for Lindsay and Emma. We are so thankful to have a great home and sending church as well as a mission board with missionaries that are like family to us. We have been amaze at the magnitude of response by letters, e-mails and phone calls from literally around the world. This is one of those God things that most Christians only read about. God is faithful and is ever-present in our time of need. Please continue to be in prayer for Lindsay and Emma as they are still in ICU and will be for the near future. Also remember Linda and I as we seek to minister at out temporary mission field, Augusta, Georgia. Rick and Joy Kelly are missionaries to the military on Guam and are filling in for us at Family Baptist church. Souls are being saved constantly as they are demonstrating their ability to follow Christ in our absence. God bless you all, even every one!

Dear BMFP Family and Friends:

Alice & I drove from Jacksonville to Augusta, GA yesterday where we were able to spend some time with Jay & Linda Aarseth. Needless to say the Aarseths are exhausted and drained. They are trusting in the Lord. Their daughter and grandchildren continued to be in serious condition with around 60 percent body burns from the fire.

Early this morning (Sunday) Brother Jay called to inform me that their young grandson Ewan passed away. Please continue pray for their daughter Lindsay Norcross and their granddaughter Emma. Your love and prayers for Jay & Linda Aarseth and their family is greatly appreciated.

Right now the best way to let them know of your concern and prayers for them is to send them a short email to their address at uk4him@aol.com. Thanks for caring!

The Lord is good, all the time!

Friday, June 12th - 2:00pm (Update taken from the Aarseth's sending church webpage)  http://pineygrovebc.com/?p=264

Lindsay’s surgery went very well this morning. She had skin grafts placed on her upper chest and leg areas. The doctors main concern with these surgeries is for blood loss after the completion of the surgery. Please pray fervently that her blood loss will be minimal.

The doctors informed the family that Emma’s temperature has had a slight increase. They feel that this is due to one of her lungs still not being completely clear. Their concern is that the medicine she has been given has not been able to completely clear this lung. They are planning on taking Emma into surgery on tomorrow to clear this lung if it has not cleared itself by that time. The family asks everyone to please pray fervently for Emma’s lung to clear.

Many have asked about arrangements for Ewan. They are still pending at this time and will be announced on this site as soon as is possible.

Monday, June 8th - 9:00am (Update taken from the Aarseth's sending church webpage)  http://pineygrovebc.com/?p=264

Lindsay is making some positive progress and her surgeon feels that she may be ready for trach placement today. The trach is a more stable, “long term” tube that will help her breathe. Dialysis is a possibility just to be certain that if her kidneys are not functioning optimally; she will be protected from bacterial infection, etc. She did indicate to her nurse last night that she has pain, but her meds were adjusted and she appears as comfortable as possible.

Emma’s oxygen levels have stabilized for now and her doctor is preparing to do surgery today. This is an answer to prayer and the family takes much hope in the simple fact that her medical team is confident that she is stable enough to undergo a procedure

June 6. 2009

Dear Praying Friends and Family,

As you may have heard our youngest daughter, Lindsay, her 4 year old daughter Emma, and her 3 Year old son Ewan were in an explosion in their home on Thursday morning.  They have severe burns over 60% of their bodies.  They are currently at Doctors Hospital in Augusta Georgia.  Please do not call the hospital!!!

At this time, all we know is that as Lindsay was at the stove preparing to cook an explosion occurred blowing the walls out of the mobile home, and causing the roof to collapse and engulfing them in flames.  Lindsay was knocked unconscious for an undetermined amount of time.  When she came around the place was an inferno, she searched and found her babies and got them out of the house.  The stove was electric so there is some suspension that gas had accumulated from another location that was unknown to her.

She, Emma, and Ewan are fighting for their lives.  Along with skin damage the internal organs are placed under a terrific strain and the ever present danger of infection is a very real concern.  They are in surgery daily to remove damaged tissue.

We want to ask for your prayers and understanding at this time.  We may not be able to respond to every person immediately.  We will get out updates to Piney Grove Baptist Church in Trenton, Ga. and to Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples in Jacksonville, Fl.   There is a fund established for Lindsay for information contact Piney Grove or BMFP.

Please do not call our cells as they are from Guam and are on roaming, we will address this in the days ahead and update you.  We will need a place to stay here in Augusta as they will be in ICU for at least two months.

Thanks you for your words and expressions of love.

In Christ

Jay and Linda Aarseth
