I was saved at the First Baptist Church of
Lawtey, Florida as a teenager. Two years later, I surrendered to preach
and began Bible College. While I was in college, the Lord opened my eyes
and heart to the world of missions. I surrendered my life to be a
missionary, but at the time I had no direction. In 1998, I took my first
trip to the mission field of Mexico, and the Lord confirmed in my heart
the call to go to Mexico as a missionary. I returned to the United States
and began raising support to go full-time on the mission field.
It was while I was on pre-field ministry, that I met Ellen at her home
church, Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta, SC. Ellen was saved at
Victory and was an English and Spanish teacher at Victory Christian
School. Ellen visited the mission field for the first time in August of
1999, and the Lord confirmed in her heart that He would bless our lives
together on the mission field. We were married in April of 2000.
We finished pre-field ministry and moved to Mexico in August of 2002. We
began working and training with the Ashcraft family, veteran missionaries
in Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico. We received training in the language and
culture, and helped in various aspects of the ministry: Sunday School,
Christian Education, and Jail Ministry. In 2004, the Lord opened the door
for us to help in the beginning stages of a mission church in the city of
Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. Later that same year, the Lord gave me the
opportunity to become the Pastor of that church, and we moved our home to
Parral. The Lord has blessed our lives in so many ways, and we thank Him
for being our constant companion.
