My name is Kimberly Clayton, and I am 36 years old. I have been raised in church all my life and although I was raised in church and thought I was saved at the age of 5, I never truly accepted the Lord as my personal Savior until the age of 28. I had the head knowledge but didn't have the heart knowledge. All my life, I loved hearing about the ''great adventures'' that missionaries would share when they came to visit our church, but never realized that God would someday call me. Although I wasn't saved at the age of 18, I believe the Lord began preparing my heart for missions. I, at first, thought that I needed a husband to go and serve, so when I finally got saved, the Lord spoke to my heart and showed me that I was complete and whole in Him. He also spoke to my heart with scripture from Hebrews 13:5, saying, ''I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.'' He told me that He can and will keep his promises, and although men may make these promises with all their well intentions, they can't always keep them. It is upon that promise that I live knowing that He has called me, that He is committed to me, and that it is He who will keep me, and care for me. Having said thus, the Lord has called me to serve the children of Honduras. It was while I was there on a mission trip to teach English, that the Lord showed me this was where He wanted me full-time. The varied ministries I will be involved with include teaching English in the Christian High School and Bible Institute, Counseling with the students, Music ministry within the High School and indigenous churches within the Baptist mission, Translating for mission teams that visit, and starting Saturday Bible clubs within the already established feeding kitchens of the the mission.
