The Lord continues to
bless Baptist Missions To Forgotten Peoples by adding a
great assemblage of new missionaries to our mission
family. BMFP held Candidate Training Week 0n June 13-18.
Dr. Tim Clark serves as our Pre-field Administrator. He,
together with our other BMFP Field Administrators plus
some pastors that serve on our Executive Board, did a
wonderful ministry of preparing this class of
missionaries for their field of service. This year’s
class certainly was one of diversity which is one of the
great things about serving with BMFP. As we assist local
independent Baptist churches to care for their
missionaries, we give to each God called servant the
avenue to fulfill God’s will for their lives.

Takis Korianitis was
born to Greek parents on the island of
Zakynthos in the Ionian Sea, west of Greece. He was
ushered in to the Greek Orthodox religion by his
parents,
society, and the school system since his birth. Takis
was
pushed a little more in to religion than others, because
of his
family’s past of priesthood in the Orthodox Church. His
family is also responsible for the recognition of the
patron
saint of the island. All these created a tremendous
feeling of
responsibility towards his family, religion and country.
He
was trained to become the next priest in his town.

I have many
opportunities in my travels to talk with people that are
trying to discriminate the will of God for their lives,
especially concerning choosing mission boards. A mission
board does not replace or usurp the authority of the
local church. With Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples
missionaries are sent out of their local church and
answerable to them.

I am dedicating this
edition of the BMFP Family News to those who have shown
their love and given their time and energy to be a help
and blessing to those who survived the disastrous
earthquake in Haiti. Among those was BMFP Missionary
Pilot Dave Spangler. He and his dear wife Sharon have
served faithfully as missionaries in the Bahamas for
many years. The Lord surely has given them a servant’s
heart for the work of the Lord and the dear people in
the Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean.

While in the
Philippines we had the privilege of being with BMFP
Missionaries Mandy & Lynn Calinisan and Kevin & Mary
Bennett. My what a joy it was to be able to spend some
time with these two quality couples. I don’t ever need
to be impressed, but I was at how the Lord is using both
couples to build strong churches and ministries.

On behalf of our entire
BMFP Family, I want to let you know that we are praying
for the Lord’s blessings upon you throughout the New
Year of 2010. We are so thankful for every church and
each individual that prays and supports missionaries
that serve with our board. As we begin the New Year I am
sure that many of us make, with the best intentions,
resolutions that we intend to keep.

Over two thousand years
ago angels declared praises to our Heavenly Father for
THE GIFT of the Christ child on that first Christmas
morning. Thank you for being our partners in the
ministry. Because of your prayers and faithful support
the Lord is using the BMFP missionaries to continue to
declare the message; “For unto you is born this day in
the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
(Luke 2:11)
